This year, we’ve been growing at a remarkable rate; we opened a second office in Washington D.C. and have invested more resources into our Ventures team to help support meaningful startups. We are looking for a strategic finance professional with an entrepreneurial mindset to help guide GoKart Labs through this new and exciting phase of growth. This is a great opportunity for someone who believes they are ready for their first CFO role. The CFO will be tasked with strategically establishing our financial operations, aligning new initiatives with monetization, understanding the needs of the business, as well as working hand-in-hand with the CEO and leadership team to improve our financial processes.

This position is much more than just building a fully integrated financial model and requires forward thinking, stellar communication skills and entrepreneurial DNA. The CFO will play a visible role at GoKart Labs and be viewed as a thought leader both internally and externally. It’s an exciting opportunity to lead, shape and share the strategic financial direction of a rapidly growing company.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assisting the CEO in establishing financial strategic objectives as well as operating policies and procedures to ensure attainment of organizational objectives.
  • Evaluating results to determine if financial objectives are being met.
  • Maintaining relationships with lending institutions and the financial community.
  • Collaborating with the CEO to establish and accomplish organizational goals, objectives and strategic plans, exploring growth opportunities and identifying key risks and success factors.
  • Advising the CEO on strategic business development and making recommendations on major business decisions.
  • Being responsible for the Facilities and IT support functions as they are key enablers of company performance, operational efficiency and asset/expense controls.
  • Being a thought-leader on ways in which operating performance can be maximized.
  • Managing the economics of our marketplace, with special responsibility for increasing gross margin.
  • Enhancing current management reporting with more analytics and metrics to track business performance. Working with leaders to ensure these reports are aiding them in managing their areas of responsibility.
  • Developing financial strategies, budgeting processes and forecasts to support current and future revenue models.
  • Creating rigorous financial models and executing sound financial analysis.
  • Developing exemplary financial systems infrastructure to drive efficiency and accuracy of all financial planning and reporting processes.
  • Ensuring that all regulatory reporting requirements are met; providing adequate structure and discipline around internal controls and the closing process.

What You Have Done

  • You have 10 years progressive career experience, preferably with a public accounting background. 
  • You have worked within a fast-growth company and know what it requires to stay ahead of the growth curve to ensure the business evolves and scales.
  • You have a wide breadth/depth of experience operating in complex business models.
  • You have built a high-performance finance team and set of processes in accordance with best practices and has scaled that team through periods of growth.
  • You’re a team builder and strong coach, able to recruit, retain and mentor top-quality staff and motivate team members, giving them career-broadening opportunities.
  • You have experience with EOS® (preferred but not required). Embracing EOS® methods is critical for the CFO to be successful.
